AIEEE 2011 Exam Pattern

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducts AIEEE (All India Engineering Entrance Examination) every year for the candidates, who desire to seek admission into Engineering and Architecture/Planning programmes at undergraduate level. Program of Action (PoA), 1992 under the National Policy on Education (NPE), 1986 envisions the entrance examination. Almost every Central, state, deemed universities, government as well as private institutes in India accept AIEEE 2011 scores as part of their admission procedure. AIEEE 2011 will be conducted on April, 24, 2011.

AIEEE 2011, which will be conducted both online and paper based, comprises of two papers. The first one is meant for candidates who want to pursue B. Tech / B.E programme, while the second paper is for the candidates, who desire to study B. Architecture and B. Planning programme. The paper I of AIEEE 2011 examines the candidate’s knowledge under three sections - Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics while paper-II comprises of the following three sections: Mathematics, Aptitude Test and Drawing. Each section of Paper-I consists of multiple choice objective questions of equal weight age, while Part I & Part II of the second paper consists of objective questions and Part-III tests the drawing ability of the aspirants. 

AIEEE 2011 will be conducted in English as well as in Hindi medium. The applicants are required to select the medium while filling the application form itself. 25% of the total marks allotted for the question would be deducted, in case of any wrong or incorrect answer. More than one answer indicated against each question would be considered as incorrect. The answers are required to be marked in separate OMR sheets with only black or blue ball point pen. Each paper of the single-stage entrance examination- AIEEE 2011 will be of three hours duration.
