JMET 2011

JMET or Joint Management Entrance Test is conducted by Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) on a rotational basis, for selecting potential candidates for admission into two years of full-time postgraduate degree programmes in Management. At present, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, and IIT Roorkee conduct Programmes in the discipline of Management. JMET 2011 is scheduled to be held on Sunday, December 12, 2010 and the results are expected to be declared on January, 3, 2011. The candidates can apply to as many courses as they desire for, provided they meet the eligibility criteria. JMET, conducted every year, is only a qualifying examination. Admission of the candidate will depend on further admission procedure that may include Group Discussion/Interview etc. For separate institutes, candidates are required to apply separately. Apart from IITs, numerous other management institutes accept JMET score.

The management courses, for which IIT conduct JMET, are as follows:

• Master of Management (M. Mgt.), at IIT Bombay
• Master of Business Administration (MBA), at IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, IIT Roorkee
• Master of Human Resource Management, at IIT Kharagpur

The eligibility criteria in order to apply for management courses offered by different IITs are given below: 

Master of Management (M. Mgt) Programme  offered at IIT Bombay 
The candidates are required to pass B. Tech/B. E (or  equivalent) or Master's  degree in Science with minimum 60% aggregate marks or minimum CGPI of 6.5 out of 10. Relaxation of 5% in minimum marks required or equivalent in CGPI is there for candidates belonging to SC/ST category. Candidates with M. Sc. degree also need to have scored minimum 60% in bachelors as well as in M. Sc. degree.

MBA in Management Systems and Telecommunication Systems Management offered at IIT Delhi
The candidates are required to pass Bachelor's degree in any branch of Engineering/ Technology/Architecture/Pharmacy/Agriculture with at least 60% marks in aggregate or 6.75/10 CGPA or Master's degree in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Applications, Electronic Science, Environmental Science, Operations Research, Computational/Information Science, Agriculture, Commerce, and Economics. Exemption of 5% in minimum marks required or equivalent in CGPI is there for SC/ST candidates.

Master of Business Administration (MBA) offered at IIT Kanpur 
The candidates with B. Tech/B. E degree from AICTE approved institution with not less than 60% marks or grade point average of 6.0 on a scale of 10.0 in aggregate are eligible. Candidates with Architecture degree can also apply provided they have taken Mathematics at 10+2 level.

Master of Business Administration (MBA) offered by IIT Kharagpur 
The candidate with first class B. E/B. Tech degree or M. Sc (with Mathematics or Statistics at Bachelor’s level) or Master’s degree in Economics or Commerce (with Mathematics or Statistics at Bachelor’s level) is eligible.  

Master of Human Resource Management (MHRM) offered by IIT Kharagpur The candidates with first class B. E/ B. Tech or any Master’s degree are eligible. Weight age is also given to work experience.

MBA from IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee 
The candidates with B.E. / B. Tech or Master's degree in any discipline with first class or equivalent from a recognized Institution or University are eligible to apply.
