NMAT 2011

Narsee Monjee Management Aptitude Test, popularly known as NMAT, is conducted by Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) every year, for offering admission to students in its postgraduate (PG) degree level programmes in the field of management. NMAT 2011 is a Computer Based Test (CBT), designed on a Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) format. Candidates who are seeking admissions into PG degree level programmes in the field of management, to be offered by NMIMS in the academic session 2011, must obtain qualifying marks in NMAT 2011. Scores obtained by the candidates in NMAT 2011 is very essential criteria for admission into the PG programmes in management education, offered by NMIMS. However, final selection of the candidates will be made on the basis of merit obtained in NMAT 2011, followed by Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). NMAT 2011 is being conducted in a three months window, starting from October 1, 2010 to December 31, 2010, for admission into various PG courses in the field of management mentioned below:

Candidates having a Bachelor's degree from any recognized university with minimum 50% marks are eligible to apply, however, relevant work experience will be preferred. Candidates desirous to apply for MBA (Pharmaceutical Management) must possess a Bachelor's degree in Science, Life Sciences, Medical Doctors (MBBS), BSMS, BHMS, BAMS, B Sc and M Sc in Biotechnology from a recognized university with atleast 50% marks in aggregate. Candidates having PG degree in Economics, Psychology and Sociology are also eligible to apply. Candidate wishes to apply for EPGDM are required to have five year post qualification work experience in Supervisory/Executive Cadre.

NMAT 2011 has come up with many new features that are candidate friendly and are introduced by NMIMS to make the examination process convenient for the test takers. The new features of NMAT 2011 are of international standards. Some of the features are mentioned below:

NMAT 2011 Features

  • Long Testing Window: NMAT 2011 will be conducted in a three-month long window instead of a 10-day window, in which NMAT 2010 was conducted.
  • Self Scheduling Option: Candidates have the option to schedule their test date and time as per their convenience. However, seats for appearing in the admission test are not guaranteed and will be offered on first-come-first serve basis.
  • Choice of Attempts: Candidates have the option to attempt NMAT 2011 for maximum three times.
  • No Negative Marking: No negative marking will be made for any wrong answer in NMAT 2011.
  • Unique Question Paper for Every Candidate: Each candidate shall get a unique but equivalent question paper.
  • Equated Result: The results will be declared within four to five weeks from the exam delivery. The results will be comparative in order to bring about equivalence and fairness and to help candidates in knowing their performance in time.
