SCRA Exam



Special Class Railway Apprentice is a job entrance examination, which is conducted by Union Public Services Commission (UPSC). The examination is for the selection of candidates as Special Class Railway Apprentices in Mechanical Department of Indian Railways. This is a class-I service and these officials constitute the top cadre of the mechanical wing of the Indian Railways. The recruitment exam is conducted at various test centers throughout the country. Candidates get selected through the entrance test and can get placed under various state cadres. Candidates, who are appearing for the qualifying examination or if the result is awaited, can apply to appear for the recruitment exam.
 
In order to appear for SCRA exam, the candidates need to submit application forms on or before the prescribed last date of submission of forms. Eligible candidates have to qualify a written test scheduled by Union Public Services Commission (UPSC). Selected candidates who qualify in the written test successfully are called for personal interview conducted by the Commission, for personality test of the candidates. Candidates get recruitment opportunity as Special Class Railway Apprentices in Indian Railways only after qualifying the last round of interview.
