Special Class Railway Apprentices (SCRA) exam is an entrance test for the recruitment of first class railway officials under the central government. The entrance test is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). It is conducted at various test centers and candidates apply for this test throughout the country, every year. Candidates get selected on the basis of written exam and personality test, both conducted by UPSC. After qualifying both the stages of the entrance, selected candidates get appointed in Indian Railway’s Mechanical Department as trainee or probationary class-I railway officials.
