Special Class Railway Apprentice (SCRA) exam is a highly competitive job entrance test, which is conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The examination is conducted for the appointment of candidates as Special Class Railway Apprentices in Mechanical Department of Indian Railways. Candidates can apply through online application forms and in person.
 
UPSC SCRA exam application forms can be obtained from the designated Head post Offices/Post Offices throughout the country against cash payment of Rs 20/- Online application forms can be found on the official website of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) i.e. www.upsc.gov.in. The applicants are also required to affix the postage stamp of Rs 6/- on the Acknowledgement Card and send the same along with application forms, to UPSC. Candidates, who are already in government service, are required to submit an undertaking that they have informed in writing to their Head of Office/Department that they have applied for the examination.
 
All the application forms of UPSC SCRA exam must reach ‘Controller of Examinations, Union Public Service Commission, Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi-110069’, either by hand or by Post/Speed Post or by Courier, on or before the mentioned last date of submission of forms. After the submission of forms, candidates would receive an admission certificate with details of the exam date, venue, candidate’s roll no. etc. Without this admission certificate, no candidate is allowed to appear for the examination.
