Candidates are required to appear for UPSC Engineering Services examination, in order to be recruited at various engineering services in government sector under the following four categories: Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering. The exam is among the highly reputed and competitive job entrance exams in India. The scores obtained by the candidates in UPSC Engineering Services examination, which is also called UPSC IES Exam, followed by their performance in the personality test, forms the basis of the selection criteria. The candidates satisfying the eligibility criteria can appear for the exam through any of the test centers located across the country, allocated by the Commission. UPSC Indian Engineering Services Examination Registration
 
In order to appear for UPSC Engineering Services examination, which is also referred as to UPSC IES Exam, the candidates should register themselves. All the candidates, except for few residing in remote areas, are required to register themselves online. It should be noted that all the offline applications, if any, received from candidates residing in normal areas/abroad (except for candidates residing in remote areas), will be rejected by the Commission. UPSC IES Exam Online Application Forms
The candidates, who desire to apply online, are required to visit the website http://www.upsconline.nic.in. Details regarding filling the form online have been mentioned in the website. The candidates are advised to read them thoroughly prior filling the form.
 
UPSC IES Exam Offline Application Forms
In order to apply through offline mode, the candidates have to purchase the form through designated Head Post Offices/Post Offices, located across the country, against the cash payment of Rs. 20/-. Each Form can be used only once and only for one examination.
