CDS Exam Syllabus

UPSC CDS Exam, also known as Combined Defence Services Examination, is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The commission conducts the examination for offering employment to truly deserving and fit candidates into various defence services of India. Candidates who picture themselves as defence recruits will have to clear the examination. To qualify the exam effortlessly, candidates must be aware about the syllabus of the exam. The question paper of English assesses the candidates' ability of understanding the language and use of words. The commission has not prescribed any particular syllabus for this section of the exam. However, candidates must prepare Reading Comprehension, Correction of Sentences, Articles, Prepositions and Tenses & Spelling etc. Candidates must improve their Vocabulary. In order to prepare for English section and improve vocabulary, candidates must read English newspaper, magazines, books etc.

 

 

To crack the GK section of the exam, the test takers must be aware about the current events of their state, country and world at large. In addition to this, candidates must brush up the history of India, geography of nature etc. GK section is all about how much a candidate is informed and aware about his/her surroundings, country etc. So in order to prepare for GK section, one must be well informed about the latest events and burning topics of discussions etc.

 

 

The syllabus of Elementary Mathematics includes Arithmetic, Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, Mensuration, Statistics etc. Candidates must prepare the aforesaid topics well so as to excel in the section. Candidates must study Number System-Natural numbers, Integers, Rational and Real numbers etc for Arithmetic section. For Algebra, the test taker must prepare Basic Operations, simple factors, Remainder Theorem, HCF, LCM Theory of polynomials etc. Lines and angles, Plane and plane figures, Theorems on Properties of angles at a point, Parallel lines etc must be on the tips of the candidates so as to crack the Geometry part. For Mensuration, the test takers must study about Areas of squares, rectangles, parallelograms, triangle and circle etc. For Statistics, candidates must prepare Collection and tabulation of statistical data, Graphical representation frequency polygons, histograms, bar charts, pie charts etc.
