Union Public Service Commission Geologists' Exam, popularly called UPSC Geologists' Exam is conducted every year, to recruit potential candidates in geology and hydrogeology disciplines. The recruitment for posts under two categories- category I, which includes Geologist Group A post in Geological Survey of India and category II, which comprises of Jr. Hydro geologists (Scientist B), Group A and Assistant Hydro geologists Group B posts in Central Ground Water Board are under the purview of UPSC Geologists' Exam. The test is usually held once in a year in the month of November/December. Merit in written exam followed by interview for personality test forms the basis of selection criteria of aspirants. The entrance exam is the only gateway for the aspirants to be recruited at aforesaid posts in government sector.
Geologists' Entrance Examination Registration
In order to appear in UPSC Geologists' Exam, which is one of the highly competitive entrance examinations, the candidates are foremost required to fill the application form, which can be obtain offline and through online mode.
In order to apply offline that is through pen-pencil mode, the candidates are required to fill Common Application Form developed by the Commission for its examination. The forms are available at designated Head Post Offices/Post Offices throughout the country against cash payment of Rs. 20/- (Rupees Twenty only). Each Form can be used once and only for one examination. In case, candidates find any difficulty in obtaining Application Form from the designated HPO's/POs, they can contact the concerned Post Master or UPSC's "Form Supply Monitoring Cell " over Telephone No. 011-23389366/Fax No. 011-23387310. All the offline applications should reach the "Secretary, Union Public Service Commission, Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi-110069" either by hand or by Post/Speed Post or by Courier, on or before the last date.
