Manipal College of Dental Sciences, located in Manipal (Karnataka), started its first academic session in 1965. The institution, initially known as the College of Dental Surgery, boasts of being the first self-financing dental college in the private sector of India. The college is a constituent part of the Manipal University, prior to this it was affiliated to Mysore University, followed by Mangalore University. It has also gained the recognition from Dental Council of India (DCI). Apart from conducting Bachelor’s and Post Graduate courses in dental surgery, Manipal College of Dental Sciences, offers advanced certificate courses in Oral Implantology and Aesthetic dentistry, certificate course in Dental Hygiene and Dental Mechanics, and post graduate diploma course in Dental Materials. The college also plans to start programmes in Forensic Dentistry and Lasers in Dentistry. Clinical experience along with theoretical knowledge is imparted to the aspirants.

Eligibility:

Undergraduate:
Candidates with pass in 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized Board in science stream with minimum 55% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together are eligible.

Diploma:
The candidates, who have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized University, are eligible.

Post Graduate Diploma:
The candidates with pass in Bachelor’s of Dental Surgery (BDS) course are eligible.

Advanced PG Certificate Course
The candidates with pass in BDS from any institution recognized by the Dental council of India and minimum of 3 years of experience of general practice are eligible. Those, who have passed MDS degree in any clinical specialty, are also eligible to apply for Advanced PG Certificate Course in Oral Implantology.

Post Graduate:
The candidates are required to pass BDS degree or equivalent degree recognized by Dental Council of India.
Admission Procedure:

Undergraduate:
The candidates are selected as per their performance in All India Manipal University Online Entrance Test.

Entrance Test: All India Manipal University Online Entrance Test

Post Graduate:
Admissions are done on the basis of candidate’s rank in the All India Manipal University Online Entrance Test.

Diploma:
Admissions will be based on merit in the qualifying examination.

Post Graduate Diploma:
Scores of Manipal University Online Entrance Test (MU-OET) are considered for admission.
