IGNOU B Ed Entrance Exam

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) conducts B. Ed. (Special Education) program through its distance education mode. For conducting the test, the university has collaborated with Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). The special education program is conducted for differently-abled candidates having hearing impairment, mental retardation or visual impairment. The course is a two-year full time program. The final selection of the candidates is based on the merit list determined by their marks in entrance test. After that, short listed candidates have to appear in the counseling conducted at the study center.

Eligibility

Candidates seeking admission B.Ed (Special Education) should be graduates from a university recognized by UGC. They should also have at least two years of experience in a ‘special school’.

Examination Pattern

The question paper is divided into two parts: Section A and Section B. Section A consists of questions that test the comprehensive skills, the ability for reasoning, educational skills, general awareness, teaching and learning skills of the candidates. In Section B, the candidates have to choose any one of these streams: Science, Mathematics, Social Studies, English, Hindi. The entrance test is of 100 marks.

Syllabus

Questions are asked from language, comprehension, general knowledge, teaching abilities, Maths, Science, Hindi, English and Social Studies, up to 10+2 standard.
