Swatantra College of Nursing is situated in Rajahmundry district of Andhra Pradesh. The college is affiliated to Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada. Swatantra College of Nursing is approved by Indian Nursing Council (INC), New Delhi and recognized by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. It offers General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) course of 3½ years duration, B Sc Nursing course of 4 years duration and M Sc Nursing of 2 years duration. The college also provides 6 months of internship with GNM course, in which students develop their nursing skills. Swatantra College of Nursing is also planning to offer Post Basic B.Sc nursing course of 2 years duration, in the near future.

Eligibility:

Undergraduate:
Candidates should have passed Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent in science stream or Intermediate Vocational (Nursing or MPHW) or Inter, with Bridge course of Biological and Physical Sciences and should have secured minimum aggregate of 45% marks. In case of SC, ST categories, 5% relaxation is allowed. Candidates should have completed 17 years age and should not have exceeded 35 years age as on December 31st of the year of admission. For SC/ST candidates, the upper age limit is relaxed by 3 years.

Diploma:
Applicants, who have passed 10+2 in any stream with minimum aggregate of 40% from any recognized Board, are eligible to apply for the course. Candidate must be of 17 years to 35 years age as on December 31st of the year of admission.

Post Graduate:
Candidates should have passed B.Sc (Nursing) with minimum of 55% aggregate marks and in respect of SC/ ST, the candidates should have scored at least 50% in aggregate, from any University / Institution recognized or established under any State or Central Act/ Indian Nursing Council. The candidate should be a registered Nurse and registered midwife or equivalent with any state Nursing Registration Council and have 1 year work experience. Candidates should not have exceeded 45 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission. The age limit is relaxed by 3 years in case of SC and ST candidates.
