The candidates should have passed 10 + 2 examination of the Council of Higher Secondary Education, West Bengal, or any equivalent examination of recognized Board / University. Admissions to second year course are also possible for the Diploma holders in Engineering/Technology.

Admissions are done on the basis of Joint Entrance Examination conducted by West Bengal Board of Examination (WBJEE), followed by counseling by the Central Selection Committee. For Lateral entry, the eligible candidates have to qualify in West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination for Lateral Entry (JELET).
