To popularize the concept of evening college and provide quality higher education, Alagappa University Evening College was started at Rameswaram, in Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu. The college facilitates the same good infrastructure as the morning college and accepts lower cut offs of the students as compared to morning college.
