Situated at Kilakarai, an economically backward town in Ramnad district of Tamil Nadu, Thassim Beevi Abdul Kader College for Women is an aided institute. The college was established in 1988 by the sincere efforts of Alhaj Dr B S Abdur Rahman Sahib and being sponsored by the Seethakathi Trust, Chennai. The college has been awarded with the Best College Award by the Department of Youth Welfare Fora of Madurai Kamaraj University for excellent quality higher educational services for consecutive three academic years.
Affiliated to Alagappa University, Thassim Beevi Abdul Kader College for Women offers various UG, PG, pre doctoral and doctoral programmes in Arts, Science, and Commerce faculties. Besides, the college imparts MCA (Master of Computer Application) programme, approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The college also offers numerous Diploma, PG Diploma, certificate and associate degree programmes, along with some remedial courses. Some dual degree programmes through IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) and School of Distance Education, Mother Teresa Women’s University are also offered by the college.

Eligibility:
Undergraduate:
Candidates who have passed 10+2 examination, or its equivalent, in Arts subject from Tamil Nadu State Board of Education or its equivalent are eligible for the BA courses offered here. Those who have completed the same in science subjects are eligible for B Sc courses.
Post Graduate:
MA/M Sc/M Com:
Graduates with relevant subjects are eligible for the MA/M Sc/M Com courses.
MCA:
Any graduate with Mathematics as a compulsory subject at least up to 10+2 level or with Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Science / Computer Application as a subject in degree level are eligible for the MCA programme.
Doctorate:
Candidates who have completed their post graduation or above degrees of qualification are eligible for the doctoral programmes in various subjects offered here.
Admission Procedure:
Undergraduate:
Admission into several undergraduate programmes is based on the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and according to the norms of Alagappa University.
Post Graduate:
Admission into MCA programme is made on the basis of the merit in TANCET exam, conducted by Anna University, Tamil Nadu. However, admission into other PG programmes is based on the merit in the last qualifying examination and as per the norms of Alagappa University.
Doctorate:
Admission into different doctoral programmes is held as per the rules of Alagappa University.
