Established in 1979, the educational institution is one of the prominent law colleges in India. It is administered by Tamil Nadu's Department of Legal Studies, Government of Tamil Nadu. Government Law College Coimbatore is affiliated to Tamil Nadu Dr Ambedkar Law University, Chennai, and approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI), Government of India, New Delhi. To impart quality legal education to the students of the region, the college offers undergraduate programs in the field of law - Bachelor of Laws (LLB), offered as both three and five-year programs.
