For admission to the first year, a candidate is supposed 10+2 passed or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, and Chemistry / Biotechnology / Computer Science / Biology as optional subjects with minimum 50% marks.

Enrolments are done through a Combined State Entrance Exam called UPSEE conducted by the U P Technical University, Lucknow. 15% seats are left to the Management. Admissions to B.Tech. II yr. (Lateral Entry) are also made through UPSEE.
