Calicut Medical College

Calicut Medical College (also known as GMC Kozhikode) is one of the premier institutes for medical education in the state of Kerala. The college was established in 1957. It holds the distinction of being the second oldest medical college in the state, after the one located in Thiruvananthapuram. GMC Kozhikode is affiliated to the University of Calicut, Kozhikode. The institute broadened its perspective by introducing Dental courses, in 1984. After its modest commencement, the institution has maintained its growth gradually for more than 40 years.
 
Government Medical College Kozhikode has increased its intake of students, from 50 to 200, after its inception. The consolidation of undergraduate medical education was achieved in the 1960s. The last 40 years have witnessed the expansion of the college. Calicut Medical College started post graduate programs and later on, went on to commence super specialty courses in various branches of medicine, thereby widening its academic horizon. During the last decade, almost all modern specialty services in medical care have been developed by the college.

Eligibility:

Undergraduate:
The candidate pursuing bachelor's degree is required to complete senior secondary examination with subjects Physics, Chemistry & Biology, from a recognized board/council.

Post Graduate:
The applicant is required to have completed MBBS from a recognized university/institution.

Doctorate:
The candidate is required to have completed post graduation in medical with a particular subject from a recognized university.
Admission Procedure:

Undergraduate:
The person will be required to appear in Kerala CEE. The candidates who qualify the examination will then be called for a personal interview and group discussion.

Entrance Test: Kerala KEAM

Post Graduate:
The applicant needs to appear in the Kerala PG medical entrance exam. The qualifying candidates will be offered admission.
