BR Tambakad Arts, Commerce and Science First Grade College, situated in Hirekerur (Karnataka), is a co-educational college. To impart higher education in Southern part of Haveri district in Karnataka, Hirekerur Taluka Vidyavardhaka Souharda Sahakari Limited started this college as Women’s Arts College in 1992. The very next year, commerce was introduced and in the year 1996, co-educational system was started in the college. Affiliated to Karnataka University, the science faculty of BR Tambakad Arts Commerce and Science First Grade College was introduced in 2005 to fulfill the needs of science aspirants. The medium of instruction was primarily Kannada in the Arts section, while in Commerce and Science section, the medium of instruction is English. BR Tambakad Arts, Commerce and Science College offers Bachelor level courses in arts, commerce and science faculties in a sprawling campus with all modern equipments.

The candidates who have completed their Pre University examinations of Karnataka State P U Board or its equivalent recognized as 10+2 level in any subject are eligible for the undergraduate courses in Arts and Commerce. The candidates who have completed the same in Science streams are eligible for the undergraduate courses in Science.
