Vinayaka Missions University (VMU) is a prominent name in the field of professional education related to Medical, Dental, Homoeopathy, Paramedical, Engineering and Management sciences. Vinayaka Missions University was founded by the Ministry of Human Resources Development (India) to help the locals get the fruits of higher education.
Educational Streams
Vinayaka Missions University provides a conducive environment for the students to achieve excellence in their chosen field of specialization. It has established many institutions in India and abroad, under its banner that offers certificate, diploma, postgraduate diploma, undergraduate degree, postgraduate degree and M Phil programm with remarkable facilities and guided by professional and experienced faculties.
The University has been successfully imparting education in the fields of medicine, dentistry, nursing, allied health sciences, engineering, management, computer science applications and basic sciences. The engineering undergraduate degree programmes offered by the University are accredited by national agencies such as UGC, NBA and Institution of Engineers (India). The University has also been able to establish international collaborations with reputed international universities in Thailand, Canada and a medical school in Belize. Recently, it has also made its presence felt in the United States with a medical campus in the state of Maryland near the city of Hagerstown.

It has established a separate wing for distance learning education known as the Directorate of Distance Education with the objective of widening the access of higher to diversified learners at national and global levels.
Facilities
The University houses four blocks of twelve-storey air-conditioned / non-air-conditioned hostel accommodation, well-equipped with furniture, computer with internet, cafeteria and mini-mart. These hostels are equipped with all modern facilities that are available in the campus. Apart from imparting education, the University considers the overall development of its students and thereby promotes extracurricular activities like National Service Scheme (NSS) and National Cadet Corporation (NCC). It has also established a Career Development Cell that helps the students during their final term of study helping them to develop soft skills, attitude and personality.
History
Vinayaka Missions University, formerly known as Vinayaka Mission's Research Foundation, is a Deemed University established in the year 2001. Later, in the year 2006, it was renamed as Vinayaka Missions University and conferred the degree of a full-fledged University by the University Grants Commission (Under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956).
