Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, also known as TNAU, is a leading agro-technology learning center in India. The Agricultural University is regarded amongst the best institutions of its kind in South Asia. The University, which was originally established as an Agriculture Farm in 1868 at Saidapet in Chennai, gradually developed into a full fledged University.
Educational Streams
Tamil Nadu Agricultural University offers several undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs in ten colleges distributed in seven campuses all over the state. The university has more than 30 research stations for agro-technology development.

Facilities
Tamil Nadu Agricultural University's library is the oldest library in the city, hosting a rich collection of books, monographs, reference books, theses and dissertations. There are about 350 national and international journals with online access for most of the journals.
History
The Tamil Nadu Agricultural University was started as an Agricultural School at Saidapet, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, in the year 1868. Later it was relocated at Coimbatore during 1906. Finally on 1st June 1971, it started functioning as a University.
