Educational Streams
Noorul Islam University is a newly established University that offers a wide range of engineering courses for the students to choose from undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs. It offers 4 year duration Bachelor of Engineering and Bachelor of Technology courses, 2 year duration Master of Business Administration (with specializations in Aviation Management, Shipping and Logistics Management, Marketing, Production, Finance, Human Resource, System Health Care Management and Technology Management), 3 years for Master of Computer Application (MCA) and 2 years duration Masters of Engineering / Masters of Technology. Besides all these courses it offers an integrated MSc in Software Engineering of 5 years duration. The University is well known for its doctoral courses offered to aspiring research scholars leading to the award of PhD in the disciplines of Mechanical Engineering, Management Studies, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Physics, Chemistry and English.
For admission into undergraduate engineering courses a candidate is require to pass in 10+2 Examination or equivalent with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. MBA admission requires one to have a graduation degree whereas MCA requires any degree with Mathematics either at the +2 level or at degree level as one of the subject. For the ME / M Tech Programs minimum eligibility required is a technical degree B.E. / B Tech in the relevant stream. Selection of the candidates for all the above mentioned courses is done as per the rules and regulations of the AICTE, New Delhi.
Facilities
The University has established well-furnished hostels for boys and girls within the premises. Mess in the hostels provides hygienic Indian food managed by students on dividing system basis. It also provides computing facilities at separate computer centers for PG & UG courses. A variety of peripherals like Colour Scanners, LCD Projectors, Colour Laser Printers, Plotters and Inkjet printers are provided with the computers in all the computer labs. Other facilities like multi-conferencing architecture between several departments, Classrooms and seminar halls, in-door video conferencing, internet facility for students at their homes with the help of Dial-up Networking round the clock, CAD/CAM laboratory, etc.
History
Noorul Islam University was declared as a Deemed-to-be-University by Ministry of Higher Education, Government of India vide Notification issued on 8th December 2008. The University has evolved from the Noorul Islam Center for Higher Education (NICHE) a famous engineering college of Thuckalay in the state of Tamil Nadu.
