Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University

Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University, an autonomous institute in nature and unitary in its character, is situated on the Mumbai-Goa National Highway (NH-17), at the foot of Raigad fort. Established in 1989 by the Government of Maharashtra, it has contributed a lot to the nation in the field of Engineering, Research and Technological services through its dedicated faculty and disciplined students.

To fulfill the needs of modern world, the university imparts education in several engineering domains and delivers Diploma, Degree, Post Degree and Doctoral Degrees. The University extends its services to the society through a governmental scheme of community polytechnic by educating the dropouts and empowering them with technical skills. Admissions are offered to meritorious candidates who are selected through entrance exam or on the basis of merit in qualifying exam. Seats to J&K migrants and Government of India nominees are offered separately. It also offers education especially to rural women through a Certificate Course in Nursing Technology.

 

The university takes care of overall personality development of its learners through organizing NCC/NSS camps, Sports events, Competitions on technical paper presentation, Design competitions and Youth Parliament. Workshops and seminars are regularly held to give proper exposure to the students. Active placement and hostel facilities are also managed by the university administration.

 

Dr. Babasahab Ambedkar Technical University, only one of its kinds in the state, was established by the Government of Maharashtra in 1989. The University has been involved in the process of delivering appropriate engineering education since its inception, and has provided skilled man power to the nation.
