Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology (DCRUST) is situated in Murthal (Sonepat) on National Highway Number 1 in the state of Haryana. The University is housed on a sprawling campus of several acres. It has evolved from CR State College of Engineering, Murthal that was established in the year 1987-88 as the first Government Engineering College in the State of Haryana. It has been named after the great freedom fighter and reformer Sir Chhotu Ram.
Educational Streams
Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology offers professional and job oriented programmes in the fields of engineering and management. Presently, it offers 8 undergraduate courses and 3 postgraduate courses in several engineering disciplines.
Apart from all the engineering disciplines, DCRUST offers Master of Business Administration program with specialization in Information Technology. All the technical courses offered by the University have been approved by the All India Council of Technical Education, AICTE, New Delhi whereas the course of Bachelor of Architecture is approved by the Council of Architecture.
Top ten percent meritorious students of each branch are provided with scholarship by the University. SC, ST and other backward class students can also avail scholarship facility as per government norms.

Admissions in the B Tech courses are done by Haryana State Counseling Society (HSCS) through online counseling on the basis of marks scored in the AIEEE entrance exam. For pursuing B Architecture in the University, one needs to clear NATA exam. MBA admissions are done by the HSCS through online counseling on the basis of MAT Score.
Facilities
The university campus provides all the basic facilities like hstels for students and staff, dispensary, shopping center, bank, post office and guesthouse etc. There are separate hostels for boys and girls, where one can avail single seated rooms, with ample recreational and mess facilities.
There is a University library that has a good collection of textbooks (Science & Engineering), conference proceedings, technical magazines and journals. The university has established a placement cell that looks after the campus placement and ensures that the students are placed with reputed organizations.

History
Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology was formerly known as CR State College of Engineering. CR State College of Engineering was established in 1987-88 as the first government engineering college in the state of Haryana. On 30th October 2006, the Government of Haryana upgraded this college to Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science & Technology in order to acknowledge the contributions that it has made to the development of technical education in the state.
