Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya (BCKV), located in West Bengal, is an agricultural University for offering agricultural education both at UG and PG levels, conducting agricultural research as well as organizing extension programmes. Educational Streams
BCKV offers education at UG, PG and PhD levels in the fields of Agriculture, Horticulture and Agricultural Engineering. A candidate should have passed Higher Secondary in Sceince stream with Physics, Chemistry and Biology to get admission in undergraduate courses. Admissions are made through West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination in UG courses. For enrolment into postgraduate courses, the applicants must have passed Bachelor Degree in Agriculture/Horticulture. For getting into PhD, the applicants are required to have passed 2 years Masters’ Degree in Agriculture / Horticulture / Agril engineering.
Facilities
Bidhan Chandra Agricultural University provides accommodation facilities to the students. They can buy their daily articles at 20% rebate from these cheap hostel stores. Financial support is also provided to the poor student. The library of the University hosts a fantastic literal collection and articles. Different indoor and outdoor games facilities are also available. Besides all this the University has also established a placement cell that explores the opportunity for placing all its students in reputed corporate, industries, Govt. and financial institutions.
History
Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya or BCKV was established in the year in 1974 at Mohanpur, Nadia, West Bengal. It has completed three decades of its journey as the pioneer institute of Agricultural Education, Research and Extension.
