Indian Institute of Crafts and Design, Jaipur (IICD), is an autonomous institute established by the Government of Rajasthan for the development of handicrafts industry. The institute is managed and funded by Ambuja Educational Institute. IICD is playing a vital role in the development of handicrafts industry. Apart from the undergraduate diploma and postgraduate courses, the institute also conducts research in craft related issues, especially documentation. The curriculum of the courses offered by Indian Institute of Crafts and Design introduces students to a range of basic design concepts and skills, to create a strong foundation in the discipline of design. The focus of the programmes is on fieldwork and the use of information technology in design education and management.

Eligibility:

Undergraduate:
A candidate who has completed 10+2 level from a recognized Board is eligible for the undergraduate diploma courses.

Post Graduate Diploma:
Candidates should have done degree or diploma in architecture/design/fashion/fine & applied arts/B. Sc Home Science in Textiles & Clothing, from a recognized University.
Or
The candidate should be graduate in any discipline, with work experience in craft sector/NGO. In addition to this, he/she should also have creative aptitude.
Or
The candidate should be artisan’s child/ward, with 5 years of experience in craft, after passing 10+2 exam from a recognized Board.
Admission Procedure:

Undergraduate:
Aptitude test and interview is conducted for the admission in undergraduate diploma programs.

Post Graduate Diploma:
Candidates are selected on the basis of their performance in an admission test, conducted by the institute.
