The college was formerly known as Central Polytechnic Chandigarh (CPC). The institute came into existence with an aim of imparting quality education to the young aspirants. The candidates should have passed 10+2 examination from recognized Board with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry, Bio-Technology, Computer Science/Information Science or Biology as an optional subject.
Diploma:
The applicants must have passed Matric or its equivalent examination with a pass in English, Mathematics and Science, from any recognized Board.

Admissions to B Tech are made on the basis of All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) conducted by CBSE. Admission of lateral entry students is done through their LEET score.

Diploma:
Admissions are done on the merit basis of Joint Entrance Test (JET) conducted by the Punjab State Board of Technical Education & Industrial Training.
