The University of Delhi conducts admission in undergraduate level programme in B.A. English (Honours) on the basis of an entrance test - DU CATE Exam. The entrance test is also known as Delhi University Common Aptitude Test for English. There are 12 affiliated colleges of the University, which enroll students on the basis of their marks in the entrance exam and also in the qualifying examination.

Delhi University Common Aptitude Test (DU CATE) is one of the prominent tests conducted by the university, for admission to undergraduate programmes offered by its affiliated colleges. The University has not prescribed any particular syllabus for Delhi University Common Aptitude Test. However, students are recommenced to study Higher Secondary Certificate Examination (10+2) syllabus of the English subject, thoroughly.
