Doon University, situated in the picturesque town of Dehradun in the state of Uttarakhand, is an autonomous center of higher learning. The University imparts socially and economically relevant education to the students in the state. It also provides facilities to conduct research in several fields.
Educational Streams
Doon University follows semester system, innovative syllabus, and field visits which help the students to comprehend the subject. It has collaborated with national institutions of repute to strengthen the educational system.
Presently the University is offering postgraduate courses such as MA in Communication, MSc in Environmental Studies and MSc in Natural Resources Management. The admission procedure for these courses is through an Entrance Test conducted by the University in Dehradun.

History
Established on 9th May 2009, the Doon University was founded to fulfill the deficit that the state of Uttarakhand has been experiencing in the area of excellence in higher education. It was formed by the Doon University Bill 2005, passed by the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly.
Doon University, Dehradun, has issued the notification for admission into Post Graduate (PG) programme, offered in the ensuing session 2011.
