Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology (CEPT) situated in Ahmedabad district in the state of Gujarat, is a State University. CEPT has carved a niche for itself and it is acknowledged as a premier University offering undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in field of environment and related studies. Located in a vast campus near Gujarat University, it fosters technical competencies with emotional, spiritual and aesthetic values in the students.
Educational Streams
CEPT University has established several schools that were later converted to specialized faculties. Presently, it offers various undergraduate and postgraduate courses under these faculties. Courses of the University have been designed keeping in mind the societal needs and future prospectus. Its main focus is on modern architecture in India and urban and regional planning, on the issues concerning construction and technology, and interior design. It offers cutting-edge specialization programmes with management skills.
The medium of instruction for all educational programs is English and these courses are recognized nationally and internationally for their excellence. The University appoints highly qualified faculties who contribute to academic and research activities. It has established collaborations with several international institutions and exchanged programs with them. All the programs conducted by the university are approved by the State government and All India Council of Technical Education.
Facilities
Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology campus is spread over a vast area that houses infrastructural facilities being provided by the University viz. lecture halls, theatre, workshops, laboratories, library, computer centers and general activity spaces. It has set up separate hostels for boys and girls.
The University library houses a rich collection of books, technical videos and teaching materials in environment and related subjects. Apart from general facilities, it has state-of-the-art departmental laboratories and workshops such as environmental science laboratory, photography and documentation laboratory, sculpture, ceramic, and graphics workshops, remote sensing laboratory etc.

History
Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology (CEPT) was established in the year 1962 at Ahmedabad in Gujarat. It was established under the aegis of Ahmedabad Education Society (AES), a premier voluntary non-profit organization. CEPT was registered as a separate Society and a Public Trust in the year 1994. Finally in the year 2005, it was accorded the status of a university by an Act of 2005 passed by the Gujarat State Legislative Assembly.
