Punjab Medical Entrance Test (PMET) is conducted by Baba Farid
University of Medical Sciences for admission to MBBS, BDS, and BAMS
courses in the medical colleges of Punjab. CMC Ludhiana has separate
examination for admission to its medical courses. Admission to medical
courses in Chandigarh Medical College is made through CET conducted by
Punjab University, held at Chandigarh, Ludhiana, and Chicago USA (for
NRI candidates).
Eligibility
PMET is open to domiciled residents of Punjab. There is exemption for
November 1984 riot affected settlers in Punjab. The candidate should
have passed 10+2 or equivalent with 50% (45% for SC/ST) in Physics,
Chemistry, Biology and English together. He/she must have attained 17
years of age on or before December 31 of the year of admission.
Examination Pattern
The test consists of multiple choice questions in Physics, Chemistry,
Biology and English. The examination centers are at Amritsar, Bhatinda,
Chandigarh, Faridkot, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Ludhiana and Patiala.
