CBSE PMT

CBSE PMT (Pre Medical Test) is a national level entrance exam conducted by CBSE for admission to 15% of the total seats for MBBS and BDS courses in medical colleges run by Union of India, state government, municipal and other local authorities in India except the state of Jammu & Kashmir. The exam is also popularly known as All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT).

Eligibility

Candidate must have passed 12th class or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (which shall include practical tests in these subjects) and Mathematics or any other elective subject with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the NCERT.

Candidate must have secured an aggregate of 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together (40% in case of SC/ ST/ OBC). He/she must complete 17 years of age on or before December 31st of the year of admission.

Examination Pattern

CBSE - PMT consists of two parts: Preliminary Examination and Final Examination. The Preliminary Examination consists of one paper of 3 hours duration containing 200 objective type questions. Those who clear Preliminary Examination only are eligible to appear in the Final Examination. The Final Examination consists of two papers of 2 hours duration each. Paper-1 contains questions from Physics and Chemistry and Paper-2 contains questions from Biology (Botany & Zoology). Both the papers have subjective questions that are to be answered in the Test Booklet supplied.
