XLRI Jamshedpur

XLRI Jamshedpur is one of the most famous management institutes of India. The institute was founded in 1949 by Fr Quinn Enright in Jamshedpur. Since its inception Xavier Labour Relations Institute Jamshedpur has set new benchmarks in the field of management education. XLRI was one of the first management institutes to go global. It has established campuses at Dubai and Singapore.

Academic courses offered by XLRI Jamshedpur are:

Personnel Management & Industrial Relations (PM & IR): This is the oldest and the most prestigious academic programme of XLRI. PM & IR is ranked as the best programme in India and the Asia-Pactific region. It is a two-year full time Programme that offers Postgraduate Diploma in PM & IR. The major thrust of this programme is on Human Resource Planning, Human Resource Information Systems, Selection, Performance Management, Training and Development, Compensation Administration and fostering harmonious employer - employee relationships in the framework of state regulations. Admissions are made on the basis of performance in XLRI Admission Test (XAT), group discussion and personal interview.

Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM): This is a two-year full time programme on Business Management and is rated as one of the finest of its kind in the country. The course has an evolving programme content and is constantly updated to keep abreast with the emerging trends. Admissions are made on the basis of performance in XAT, group discussion and personal interview.

Fellow Programme in Management (FPM): This a full-time, residential, four-year doctoral programme that aims at preparing students for careers as faculty members at premier academic institutions. Applicants for the FPM should have a Master' s degree or its equivalent in any discipline, or CA, ICWA, or CS with at least 55% marks or a BE/ B.Tech degree or its equivalent with at least 60% marks.

Executive Fellow Programme in Management (Exec-FPM): This is a part-time Doctoral level (Ph.D.) programme specially designed for working executives / managers / faculty members / researchers. Candidates seeking admission to this programme must have 5 years of full-time managerial/teaching/research experience and should have a Master's degree or its equivalent in any discipline, or CA, ICWA, or CS with at least 55% marks or BE / B.Tech degree or its equivalent with at least 60% marks. Applicants short-listed on the basis of their resume are called for a personal interview for the final selection.

General Management Programme (GMP): This is a one year consolidated programme in general management for practicing managers leading to Executive Postgraduate Diploma In General Management. Candidates are selected on the basis of XAT / GMAT. Candidates applying for the programme must hold a minimum of three years Bachelor's Degree and should have at least five years of relevant managerial experience.
