LIBA (Loyola Institute of Business Administration) is one of the top
Business schools of India. The institute was established in 1979 and is
a sister institution of the famous Loyola College, Chennai. Initially
LIBA conducted only part time PGDBM programme to cater to the needs of
working executives. In 1995, LIBA started a two-year fulltime PGDBM
programme. Both the programmes have been approved by the AICTE and are
recognised as equivalent to an MBA by the Association of Indian
Universities (AIU).
Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM): This is a
two-year full-time programme consisting of six terms, each approximately
of three months duration. The candidate seeking admission to the
programme should be a graduate in any discipline from a recognized
university and should have secured a minimum of 50% marks in the
aggregate. Register for XAT 2007 at www.xlri.edu. Last date for XAT 2007
online registration is November 30, 2006. Only candidates who have
applied to XAT 2007 are eligible for admission to LIBA.
PGDBM Part-Time: This is a three-year part-time programme
consisting of nine terms, each approximately of three months duration.
The candidate seeking admission to the programme should be a graduate
with a minimum aggregate of 50% and should have a full-time work
experience of two years. Candidates seeking admission to the programme
can either appear for the LIBA admission test or the Management Aptitude
Test (MAT) conducted by AIMA. Based on the scores of the written test,
shortlisted candidates are called for group discussion and personal
interview.
Besides the above programmes the LIBA also conducts Executive Diploma
Courses and PhD programmes.
