The Tamil Nadu Dr.Ambedkar Law University (TNADU) was established in October 1997. The University offers five-year integrated B.A., B.L (Hons.) Degree course. Admission to the course is based on an entrance test.

In order to be eligible for admission an applicant should have passed Higher Secondary Examination or equivalent examination and should have secured not less than 70% (65% in case of SC/ST) of the total marks in the aggregate. He/she should not have completed 19 years of age as on 1st July of the year of admission. There is an age relaxation of two years for SC/ST.

The entrance exam is of 2 hours duration and carries 100 marks. There are 80 objective type questions of one mark each. These questions test the candidate's general knowledge and aptitude for legal studies. There is also an essay question of 20 marks. There is negative marking and one-fourth mark is deducted for every wrong answer. In case of tie a candidate who has secured lesser negative mark shall be preferred.
