Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur came into existence in 2003. HNLU Raipur is sixth in the chain of National Law Schools. The university is named after Justice Hidayatullah, one of the greatest legal luminaries of India.

Academic Programmes offered by HNLU Raipur

B.A.L.L.B.: Admission to the B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) Programme is made strictly on the basis of merit as assessed through a National Entrance Test conducted for the purpose. The test carries a maximum of 150 marks and a candidate must obtain the minimum 50% marks of the total marks in N.E.T. to qualify for admission to the course. The admission test is for the purpose of testing (a) linguistic ability; (b) analytical skills; (c) level of quantum of information; (d) mathematical aptitude; (e) legal reasoning; and (f) aptitude for learning law. Some preliminary psychological ability test may also be included.

Eligibility: A candidate for admission to the Degree Course shall have: (a) not completed 20 years of age as on 1st July of the year of admission. In the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST, the maximum age limit shall be 22 years as on 1st July of the year of admission, (b) passed the Higher Secondary School Examination (10+2) system or an equivalent examination thereto securing in the aggregate not less than 50% of the total marks in the core subjects and English language put together; and (c) obtained at least 50% marks in N.E.T. of the total marks.

L.L.M.: Candidates for L.L.M. course are selected by the Admission Committee consisting of the Vice Chancellor as Chairman and other members of the Faculty nominated by the Vice Chancellor as members, based on assessment of performance at the interview held to determine the aptitude for higher studies and research.

Eligibility: A candidate for admission to LL.M. Course should have passed LL.B./B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) Degree or its equivalent from a recognized University and should have secured at least 55% of marks in aggregate of the maximum marks prescribed. Age limit for General Candidates is below 30 years as on 1st August of the year of admission. Age limit for SC/ST Candidates is below 32 years as on 1st August of the year of admission.
