Gujarat National Law University (GNLU)

Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) is the statutory university established by the Government of Gujarat under the Gujarat National Law University Act, 2003. GNLU started its academic programs from 2004 and it presently offers five year integrated B.A./ B.Sc./ B.Com. L.L.B (Hons) programmes.

Admission Criteria

Admissions to GNLU are made on the basis of merit, mainly assessed through an All India Entrance Test (ET). Only candidates securing 50 percent marks (45% for SC/ST) in the qualifying examination (10+2 public examination) are admitted to the Undergraduate Programmes. Candidates should be below the age of 20 years as on 1st July of the year of admission. There is an age relaxation of 2years for SC/ST candidates.

Test Pattern

The ET carries a maximum of 200 marks. It seeks to assess the candidate's aptitude to pursue law as a profession or a discipline, capacity to express in English language and give descriptive and analytical answers to questions, and breadth of general knowledge. The candidates selected through the test will have to undergo an interview. For the purpose of admission, the weightage of ET is 80% and the weightage of interview is 20%. Admission will only be open to candidate securing at least 40 percent in each segment.
