Vishwakarma Institute of Technology (VIT) Pune was established in the year 1983 and is financed and maintained by the Bansilal Ramnath Agarwal Charitable Trust, Pune. Affiliated to the Pune University, The Vishwakarma Institute of Technology is recognized by the Government of Maharashtra and is also approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. 

The VIT, Pune is located amongst lush green fields that provide a wonderful and peaceful ambience for the students to study in. It is spread over 17 acres of land, out of which about 7 acres consists of the academic building and 10 acres is reserved for playground, hostels and staff quarters. The total area available for the whole institute is about 32,045 sq.mts.
The student strength of the Vishwakarma Institute of Technology is about 2800, while there are 225 faculty members. The institution also has 67 well-equipped laboratories which have all the latest instruments for the students. The alumni of this institution are placed in some of the most respected organizations in the world. VIT, Pune also acts as a Research Center which is approved by the Pune University.

The candidate should have done higher secondary examination or 10+2 successfully with minimum of 50% marks held by the CBSE or the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Education or its equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Post Graduate:
To be eligible, the candidates should have Bachelorís degree in BE/B.Tech from any relevant field.

Master in Computer Applications
The candidates must have cleared Graduation with minimum of 45% marks in aggregate ( 40% in case of backward candidates from Maharashtra State only) in any subject recognized by the Association of Indian Universities and having studied Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level or higher level examination (not for the BCA students).

Masterís degree in the relevant field is mandatory to be eligible for this doctoral program.
Admission Procedure:

The admission is on the basis of the MHT-CET entrance examination or valid AIEEE score of the candidate.

Entrance Test: MHT CET, AIEEE Exam

Post Graduate:
The candidates with score in the GATE are given preferential to get admission in the PG programs.

Master in Computer Applications
The admission is taken out through MAH-MCA-CET or AIMCET in accordance with the norms of Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra State.

Entrance Test: GATE Exam, MAH MCA CET, AIMCET

The selection is based on the candidateís a valid UGC/NET/GATE score for admission to the PhD Programs.
