The Himalayan College of Nursing, located in Dehradun (Uttrakhand), is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and Uttarakhand State Medical Faculty. The nursing institution is also affiliated to HNB Garhwal University, Srinagar, Uttarakhand. The institution was established as School of Nursing with three years of Diploma course in General nursing and Midwifery (DGNM), but later in 2006, the college was upgraded as college and started offering degree courses, at undergraduate as well as at postgraduate level. Working under the guidance and sponsorship of Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust, the nursing college boasts of being equipped with state-of-the-art facilities.

Eligibility:

Undergraduate:
B.Sc. Nursing
Candidates, who have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized Board in science stream with minimum 50% marks in Science subjects, viz. Physics, Chemistry and Biology, are eligible provided they have attained the minimum age of 17 years as on 1st September of the year of admission.

Post Basic B. Sc Nursing
Candidates with pass in Diploma in Nursing Course from an INC recognized institution with 50% aggregate marks are eligible. In addition, they are required to be registered in parent Nursing Council and should possess minimum one year of clinical experience.

Diploma:
A pass in 10+2 or equivalent examination of a recognized Board in science stream is required.

Post Graduate:
A pass in Basic B.Sc./Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing (Regular/IGNOU) with minimum 55% aggregate marks is required. The candidate should also be registered in parent Nursing Council and should have minimum of 1 year of experience.
Admission Procedure:

Undergraduate:
Admissions are done on the basis of candidate’s performance in Pre-Nursing Entrance Examination (PNEE), conducted by the institution.

Post Graduate:
Scores of Pre-Nursing Entrance Examination (PNEE), conducted by the nursing college are considered while making admissions.

Diploma:
Candidates are selected as per their scores in Pre GNM / ANM Entrance Test.
