Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT) Surat is a government engineering college conducting several courses in various fields of engineering and technology. The institution (originally known as Sardar Vallabhbhai Regional Engineering College Surat) was established in 1961 as a joint venture of the Government of India and the Government of Gujarat. In 2002, SVREC Surat attained full autonomy in its academics as it was accorded the status of a Deemed to be University by the Government and renamed as National Institute of Technology. The institute offers a number of engineering programmes at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate level. SVNIT Surat provides ample modern amenities for the comfortable study environment within the campus.

Eligibility:
Undergraduate:
One should have cleared Higher Secondary or 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with at least 50% marks for admission in B Tech courses.
Post Graduate:
The applicant should have minimum 60% marks in the BE / BTech or equivalent examination (55% for SC/ST category) in the respective branch of Engineering.
Doctorate:
Students should have passed ME / M Tech in relevant discipline with at least 60 percent marks in aggregate.

Admission is done on the basis of All India Engineering / Pharmacy / Architecture Entrance Examination (AIEEE) conducted by CBSE, for MHRD, Government of India.

Post Graduate:
Candidates having valid GATE scores are given preference for admission onto the M Tech course.
