Sri Siddhartha Institute of Technology, also known as SSIT, is a premier educational institution in Karnataka. Located in Tumkur, the college was incepted in 1979, by Sri Siddhartha Education Society (SSES), Tumkur. SSIT has been selected by the World Bank for the award of financial assistance in Technical Education Quality Improvement Program (TEQIP). The institution offers courses that are approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.
 
SSIT Tumkur is affiliated to Visveswaraiah Technological University, Belgaum and accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The institute imparts engineering courses at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate level. Sri Siddhartha Institute of Technology has a number of modern amenities within its sprawling campus.

Eligibility:

Undergraduate:
Applicant should have passed in PUC or 10+2 or any other equivalent examination with English as one of the subjects and with 45% of aggregate marks in Physics, Mathematics and one of the subjects of Chemistry / Biology / Computer Science / Electronics / Biotechnology.

Post Graduate:
M Tech
Candidates need to have a technical degree BE/B Tech from VTU or equivalent in the relevant discipline to secure admission.

MCA
For admission to MCA the candidates should have passed Bachelor degree with not less than 50% of marks with Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Science / Computer Programming / Computer Applications / Business Mathematics / Business Statistics as one of the optional or electives at Degree Level.

Doctorate:
The candidate should have done Master's in the relevant stream, from any recognized University.
Admission Procedure:

Undergraduate:
Aspiring students who fulfill the eligibility criterion are required to appear for an entrance test like KCET or COMEDK or AIEEE to secure admission.

Entrance Test: AIEEE Exam, COMEDK UGET, Karnataka CET

Post Graduate:
Karnataka Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) is conducted by VTU for Admission to M Tech Courses in Karnataka Universities. GATE candidates with valid GATE score are given preference for admission. They are exempted from appearing for the written test.

MCA: Candidate has to appear for the PGCET or KMAT entrance to secure admission. The Karnataka PGCET is conducted under the supervision of Central Post Graduate Admission Committee (CPAC) by VTU for the purpose of admission.
