Sri Belimatha Mahasamsthana Institute of Technology (SBMSIT) was established in 1997 under the flagship of Sri Belimatha Maha Samsthana Socio Cultural and Education Trust. The Belimatha Trust was established in 1975 by Sree Sree Charamurthy Shivarudra Mahaswamiji. SBMSIT Bangalore is recognized by the Government of Karnataka and approved by AICTE New Delhi. In the beginning, SBMSIT was affiliated to Bangalore University, but since 1998 it is affiliated to Visveswaraiah Technology University (VTU). The institute provides a number of modern facilities within its sprawling campus.

Minimum 45% aggregate marks are required in the subjects of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry at the PUC II or 10+2 or Intermediate or Diploma Equivalent Examination in relevant discipline, to secure admission.
Post Graduate:
For admission to MCA, the candidates should have passed Bachelors degree with not less than 50% of marks with Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Science / Computer Programming / Computer Applications / Business Mathematics / Business Statistics as one of the optional or electives at Degree level.
