Candidates must have done their 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects with minimum 50% marks. For applicants from backward class, only 45% marks are needed while SC/ST applicants need a mere pass. Diplomas holders of engineering are also eligible.

For 50% of seats, admission depends on the ranking obtained in the Entrance Examination conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, the Govt. of Kerala. For the rest, which fall under Management Quota, entrance examination conducted by Consortium of State Self-financing Management Association. Diploma holders are admitted to the second year of the Degree courses.
