Located in New Delhi, School of Planning and Architecture (SPA) is amongst the prominent architectural institutes in the country offering several courses in the related fields of Architecture. SPA started off in 1941, as the Department of Architecture of Delhi Polytechnic at Kashmere Gate. Subsequently in 1959, it was renamed ad as School of Planning and Architecture and affiliated to the University of Delhi. Owing to the school’s contribution and eminence in the specialized nature of the fields, the Government of India, through the Ministry of Education and Culture conferred the status of Deemed to be University on SPA.

Eligibility:

Undergraduate:
BE / B Tech / UG / Undergraduate: One must have scored more than 50% marks at 10+2 level in aggregate with Mathematics as one of the subject of examination to be eligible for admission to the first year of the Bachelor?s degree programmes in Architecture and Planning.

Post Graduate:
ME / M Tech / PG / Postgraduate
Aspiring students need to score minimum 55% marks in aggregate at the qualifying examination (50% for SC/ST candidates) which is a technical degree (B Arch) in the desired discipline.

Doctorate:
PhD / Doctorate / Research:
Minimum of 55% aggregate marks is required in Master's Degree in Urban Planning or Regional Planning or Environmental Planning or Housing or Transport Planning or Landscape Architecture or Urban Design or Architectural Conservation or Building Engineering and Management or Industrial Design conducted by the School, or equivalent from any other recognized university or institution.
OR
One should have scored at least 55% of aggregate marks in Bachelor's Degree in Planning or Architecture of the School or its equivalent from any other recognized university. He/She should also have minimum five years experience in teaching, research or professional practice.
Admission Procedure:

Undergraduate:
B Tech / BE / UG / Undergraduate
Selection is done strictly on the basis of an all Indian Engineering/ Architecture Entrance Examination AIEEE conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) every year for admission into the aforementioned course. Reservation of seats is available as per the approved norms of the Government of India.
