National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur is an institute of national importance by the Government for offering quality engineering and technology courses.
National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur was established in 1962, as a Government College of Engineering and Technology. It was inaugurated by the first Prime Minister of India Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.
National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur was declared as an Institution of National importance by the Central Government on 1st Dec. 2005. By virtue of Act of the Parliament, NIT Raipur was declared an autonomous institution running on non profitable basis by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development (Dept. of Higher Education), New Delhi.
The campus of NIT Raipur is spread over an area of 100 acres. Presently, NIT Raipur offers various graduate and post-graduate level courses in different disciplines.

Eligibility:
Undergraduate:
BE / B Tech / UG / Undergraduate: One should have passed Higher Secondary or 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Post Graduate:
ME / M Tech / PG / Postgraduate: Aspiring candidate should be a graduate in the field of science or engineering fulfilling the eligibility requirement as required by the respective disciplines.
MCA: Minimum Educational qualification required for admission to the MCA course is scoring minimum 60% marks (6.5/10 CGPA) in the examinations of class 12th, Graduation with Mathematics/ Statistics/ Business Mathematics as one of the subjects. There is a relaxation of 5% for SC/ST candidates.

Admission to the BE/BTech courses are granted to the eligible candidates on the basis of AIEEE scores. The admission procedure is conducted through by Central Counseling Board (CCB) constituted by Govt. of India, Ministry of HRD. Reservation of Seats is as per Govt. of India rules.

Post Graduate:
M Tech / ME / PG / Postgraduate: Admissions into the ME/MTech courses are done on the basis of performance in GATE.
MCA: For admissions into MCA course NIT MCA Common Entrance Test (NIMCET) is conducted is conducted every year.
