National Institute of Technology (NIT) Hamirpur is located in Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh. Established in the year 1986, the educational institute was established in 1986 as Regional Engineering College by the joint and cooperative efforts of the Government of India and Government of Himachal Pradesh. NIT Hamirpur has acquired the status of a Deemed University. The institute offers engineering programmes at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate level. Undergraduate:
Applicants should have passed Higher Secondary or 10+2 examination with in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Post Graduate:
M.Tech
Candidates should possess a Bachelors degree in Engineering / AMIE in appropriate discipline or a Masters degree in appropriate discipline with 60% marks in aggregate.
MBA
The applicant must possess a Bachelor degree in Engineering/ Technology / Architecture or MCA with CGPI of 6.75 on 10 point scale or equivalent or 60% marks in aggregate wherever marks are awarded.
Doctorate:
For admission in PhD (Engineering) an applicant should have a Masters degree in Engineering / Technology with minimum 60% marks. Applicants with a Bachelor degree in Engineering or Master Degree in Applied Science or any appropriate discipline with a minimum of 75% marks and sufficient experience and publications are also considered.
For PhD (Humanities & Social Sciences) one needs a Master degree in relevant subject with 60% marks. Bachelor?s degrees in Engineering with a minimum of 75% marks are also eligible.
For PhD (Applied Sciences) a Master degree in the relevant Science subject with 60% marks is required. Applicant with Bachelor degree in Engineering or in an allied field with a minimum of 75% marks and sufficient experience and publications are also considered.

Admissions are conducted on the basis of All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) conducted by CBSE.
Entrance Test: AIEEE Exam
Post Graduate:
Candidates having valid GATE scores are given preference for admission onto the M Tech course. Other eligible candidate can apply under the sponsored having at least two years of working experience in the respective field. However the sponsored candidates are not granted any financial support from the Institute.
MBA
The admission to MBA programme is done on the basis of merit of written test of eligible candidates.
