National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research Hajipur (Bihar), one of the premier institutes of its field, started its first academic session in 2007-2008. The institution holds the distinction of being a centre of excellence, under Parliament Act, for higher education and research in the field of pharmaceutical sciences. Operating under the sponsorship of Department of Chemical and Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India, the institute currently conducts three postgraduate courses, namely, M.S. (Pharm) Pharmaco-informatics, M.S. (Pharm) Pharmacy Practice and M.S. (Pharm) Biotechnology.
NIPER Hajipur is a result of the efforts put by Government of India and Government of Bihar. The state government is all set to establish a full-fledged campus in a sprawling area of 100 acres of land for the institute, which is one of its kinds in the state. Numerous post-graduate and doctorate level of courses are expected to start in the new campus of NIPER Hajipur. In order to impart comprehensive education to its students, the autonomous institute conducts seminars on regular basis. At present, Rajendra Memorial Research Institute of Medical Sciences is entrusted with the responsibility of guiding the functioning NIPER Hajipur.

Candidates with B. Pharm degree of any recognized University are eligible. In case of M. S. (Pharm) in Biotechnology, M. Sc. degree holder in Biological Sciences discipline from a recognized University can also apply.
M. S. (Pharm) in Pharmaco-informatics
Candidates, who possess any of the following degrees- M. Sc. (Organic / Physical/Pharmaceutical Chemistry); M. Sc. /B. Tech. (Bioinformatics); M. Sc. (Biochemistry / Biotechnology/Molecular Biology and Microbiology), are eligible.
M.S. (Pharm) in Pharmacy Practice
Candidates who have done B.Pharm are eligible to apply.
