Manipal School of Architecture and Planning (MSAP) Manipal, in Karnataka, offers several levels of programs in Architectural Studies.


Manipal School of Architecture and Planning

Manipal School of Architecture and Planning (MSAP) had a modest beginning under the Department of Civil Engineering offering specialization in Architecture. Since 32 years from its inception, the college has broadened its horizon by introducing new academic and extension programmes and promoting research activities in Architecture. In 1980, MSAP was affiliated to Mangalore University and named as the Department of Architecture. In 2003, Manipal University renamed the Department of Architecture as Faculty of Architecture. Finally, the school came under recognition of the Council of Architecture in 2009 and later in 2010, it became an Independent School of Architecture and Planning. MSAP Manipal provides various academic programs in Architecture at Bachelor, Master, and Doctoral degree levels. Besides, it offers a specialized PG Certificate program in Advance Architectural Design, extending architecture education and research to new frontiers of knowledge.

Eligibility:

Undergraduate:
Candidates who have completed their 10+2 exam, or its equivalent, with Mathematics as a compulsory subject with 50% marks in aggregate are eligible to apply for the B Arch programs. Those who have successfully completed their three years Diploma with 50% marks in aggregate after 10 years of schooling in any discipline, recognized by Central/State Governments are also eligible to apply for the B Arch programmes. However, candidates have to score 40% marks in All India National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) along with necessary educational qualification.

Post Graduate:
M Arch:
Candidates should have passed B Arch program, or its equivalent, with minimum 50% marks in aggregate as approved by Council of Architecture to be eligible for the M Arch programme.

PG Certificate:
Candidates should have passed B Arch, or its equivalent, with minimum 50% marks in aggregate as approved by Council of Architecture to be eligible for the PG certificate programme in Advance Architectural design.

Doctorate:
Candidates who have completed M Arch from a recognized University with at least 55% marks in aggregate are eligible to do research in the relevant field.
Admission Procedure:

Undergraduate:
Admission of the selected candidates is done on the basis of merit obtained in the qualifying examination and All India National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA), conducted by Council of Architecture (COA).

Entrance Test: NATA

Post Graduate:
Admission of the short listed candidates is based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination. Admission of the short listed candidates to PG Certificate programme is based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

Doctorate:
Admission of the short listed candidates is made on the basis of past academic and professional record, conducted by the University.
