Manipal College of Dental Sciences was the first private dental college in India. Located in Mangalore (Karnataka), it is one of the constituent colleges of Manipal University. The college, which was formerly known as the College of Dental Surgery, came into being in 1965. It is approved and recognized by the Dental Council of India (DCI), New Delhi and it is an ISO 9001:2000 certified institute.
 
Manipal College of Dental Sciences Mangalore offers a number of courses in the field of dental sciences. It imparts Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), with duration of five years; Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) (a three-year program); PG diploma course of two years duration and certificate courses (UG and PG) in dental sciences. The college provides modern facilities to its students.

Eligibility:

Undergraduate:
The candidate must have passed in 10+2 examination, with at least 55% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (and English as the main subject), from any recognized Board.

Post Graduate Diploma:
To be eligible, the candidates must have possessed BDS from any recognized University.

Post Graduate:
The aspirants should have done graduation with BDS or its equivalent degree, recognized by DCI. Regarding the certificate courses, the candidate should have done MDS and at least three years of experience.
Admission Procedure:

Undergraduate:
For BDS, the candidates have to appear in an all India EPSI National Admission Test (ENAT). For the certificate courses, the admission is done on the merit basis determined by the marks obtained in qualifying examination.

Post Graduate:
EPSI National Admission Test (ENAT) is conducted for the admission in PG programs. For the certificate courses, the candidates are selected through marks secured in qualifying examination and their work experience.

Post Graduate Diploma:
The selection of the candidates is based on the marks obtained in qualifying examination and previous professional experience.
