Founded in July 2003, Majhihira Ashram Primary Teachers’ Training Institute is located in Purulia district of West Bengal. The institute offers two year Diploma in Education course to provide trained primary teachers to the society. Majhihira Ashram Primary Teachers’ Training Institute is affiliated to the West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) and recognized by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The college is a co-educational institute, which is run by Majhihira National Basic Educational Institution (MNBEI). Well qualified and experienced teachers are associated with the institute, to assist the students to acquire the skills and the art of teaching.

Candidates should have successfully completed graduation from a recognized university with at least 50% marks in aggregate, to be eligible for the programme. Reservation of SC/ST category candidates is done as per the norms of the university.
